Rookie seamers Sebastian Morgan and Naavya Sharma are displaying ‘no fear’ as they help Middlesex to close in on victory against Gloucestershire, according to Toby Roland-Jones.
The former Seaxes skipper picked up five wickets in Gloucestershire’s first innings at Lord’s and was well supported by 20-year-old Sharma, who took 2-39.
Morgan – still only 18 – then claimed the wickets of Cameron Bancroft and Joe Phillips to leave the visitors on 120-3 after following on, still needing another 109 to make Middlesex bat again on the final day.
“It’s definitely nice to see young players coming through, thriving and showing no fear and really embracing the challenges of different parts of the game,” said Roland-Jones.
