Runs on the board may prove crucial on a pitch likely to remain sporty throughout the game.
That was the view of Sam Robson after Middlesex battled their way to 291-8 on the opening day at New Road, having lost the toss and been put in by hosts Worcestershire.
Robson suggested that was a decent effort on a pitch where runs had to be hard earned throughout the day – a pattern he expects to continue as the match progresses.
“It looks like there will be some assistance for the bowlers the whole way through,” he said, speaking at the close.
