There’s no guarantee Sebastian Morgan will be in Middlesex’s XI to face Worcestershire at Lord’s tomorrow despite his heroics against Gloucestershire last week, according to head coach Peter Fulton.
The England U-19 World Cup seamer broke open Gloucestershire’s top order in the second innings at The Home of Cricket, returning a career-best 4-48 as Middlesex won by an innings to be the early pacesetters in Division Two.
Morgan is embarking on his first full season at senior level and the opening block of Championship fixtures is especially demanding on county quicks, with Worcestershire’s visit just the second of six games crammed into seven weeks before the Vitality Blast hits town.
New head coach Peter Fulton is acutely aware that at only 18 with a frame still filling out and having come from the World Cup in Zimbabwe into pre-season, Morgan needs to be carefully managed.
