Max Holden has hailed the impact made by young seamer Naavya Sharma since he broke into Middlesex’s T20 line-up in the second half of the Vitality Blast.
Sharma, 20, did not feature in the Seaxes’ first six South Group fixtures but has filled key roles in both the powerplay and death overs, bowling with accuracy and economy, since the tournament resumed.
He was the pick of Middlesex’s bowlers again on Friday, finishing with 2-34 in his four overs although Sussex racked up 213-3 at Merchant Taylors’ School and triumphed by 18 runs to end the home side’s hopes of a third consecutive win.
