Ryan Higgins says the euphoria of Middlesex’s white-ball success gave him extra ‘freedom’ to bat after scoring his second hundred of the week in their County Championship finale against Northamptonshire.
The all-rounder, whose century in Sunday’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup final was pivotal to his side’s recovery and triumph against Leicestershire, played a similar role after coming to the crease at Lord’s with the Seaxes struggling on 32-4.
Higgins’ knock of 115, which included significant partnerships with Ben Geddes, Harry Duke and Zafar Gohar, engineered a fightback to 255 all out – having earlier taken 4-30 with ball in hand as the visitors were dismissed for just 103.
