Ryan Higgins admitted his maiden List-A hundred was right up there among his sporting achievements after he led Middlesex to their first trophy in the format for 36 years in a 31-run win over Leicestershire at Trent Bridge today.
The Zimbabwean all-rounder struck exactly 100 in 115 balls with nine fours to rescue the Seaxes from the horrors of 71-5, sharing a stand of 135 for the sixth wicket with Harry Duke (55). The rebuild came after Ian Holland had ripped out much of the Middlesex top order on route to 5-36
Higgins confessed he still felt Middlesex’s total of 231 was below par, but the seamers hit back, Toby Roland-Jones 3-27, Tom Helm 3-32 and Naavya Sharma 3-37 doing the bulk of the damage.
