It’s not every day Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff rings you in the middle of your weekly shop – but that was the scenario for Middlesex’s Ben Geddes on Thursday when his call-up came for England Lions’ duty.
The 24-year-old right-hander was in the middle of the mundane but necessary task when an unknown number came up on his phone and on deciding to answer it, he heard ‘Is that Ben Geddes – this is Freddie Flintoff.’
