Hannah Davis believes there’s ‘a long way to go’ when it comes to misogyny within cricket – and she speaks from recent first-hand experience.

The Middlesex leg-spinner was a pivotal member of the county’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup winning side in 2026, taking 11 wickets at a shade under 21, including 3-38 in the competition final against Glamorgan last month.

However, when not beguiling Tier 2 opposition batters, Davis loves to turn out for her beloved Berkhamsted CC where she plays for the men’s 1s or 2s.

Sadly, it was in this context at a game in the Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League, Division 5A in August that a member of the opposition attack refused to run in and bowl at the 22-year-old right-hander, forcing them to change bowler mid-over.
