Du Plooy leads from the front to set up last day victory charge v Worcestershire
15.06.26, 08:46 3 Minute Read
If Middlesex go on to beat Worcestershire at New Road later today in the shadow of the city’s cathedral, fans of the Seaxes should be sure to raise a hallelujah, and maybe a glass in honour of skipper Leus du Plooy.
The men of Lord’s will begin day four in a couple of hours’ time needing eight wickets to wrap up victory over the Pears, who themselves need a further 325 runs to win.
That Middlesex are in the pound seats is in no small part down to left-hander du Plooy, whose grittily composed unbeaten century on day three was made with the pressure on both him personally and the team collectively.
