'Onwards and upwards' for Middlesex prospect Falconer, says Du Plooy

Leus du Plooy has praised Middlesex starlet Caleb Falconer’s performance under pressure against Derbyshire and says it will be ‘a great learning curve’ for his long-term development.
England Under-19 international Falconer, making only his second County Championship appearance, came to the wicket with the Seaxes three down at Lord’s and still 115 short of making their opponents bat again.
The teenager batted for over two hours alongside Du Plooy, scoring 48 in a century stand that provided the home side with a glimmer of hope – although Derbyshire go into the final day as clear favourites to win the contest.
“Caleb’s very talented,” said the Middlesex captain. “He’s got a lot about him and he’s certainly got a great future ahead of him as well.
