Ferns set to face Gloucestershire as bowlers rest for Trent Bridge showpiece

Otago paceman Danru Ferns is poised to make his Middlesex debut in next week’s County Championship game at Gloucestershire and help keep the county’s other seam options fresh for the Metro Bank One-Day Cup final.
The 32-year-old, who has been playing club cricket in the UK this summer, was recently signed on a short-term deal to replace Eathan Bosch following his call-up for South Africa’s T20I squad.
Middlesex are seeking to rest bowlers ahead of next weekend’s 50-over showdown against Leicestershire at Trent Bridge, with Toby Roland-Jones sitting out the current Division Two fixture at Durham.
