Abbie Whybrow is finally honing in on her ambition to be a full-time professional cricketer.
The newly arrived Middlesex opener admits her journey with the sport has taken something of a circuitous route since she first encountered cricket in the early 2010s.
Other sporting loves, particularly hockey, but also netball and tennis have had to take a back seat.
There’s been the none too small matter of getting a first class honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science at Durham University and a delayed ‘gap year’ to Australia, post studies where she embraced the Aussie coffee culture to become a trained Barista.
