Rain foils Middlesex but Fulton pleased by players' focus

Peter Fulton praised his players for not allowing thoughts of Sunday’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup final to distract them at Bristol after rain denied Middlesex a County Championship win over Gloucestershire.
The Seaxes outplayed their hosts and needed just one wicket to clinch victory when the weather intervened for a second time on the final afternoon, with Gloucestershire’s last pair hanging on at 145-9.
However, the players can now turn their attention solely to Trent Bridge, where they take on Leicestershire in Sunday’s final – aiming to secure the county’s first List A triumph since the Refuge Assurance Cup in 1990.
