Head coach Peter Fulton praised Ben Geddes’ potential after the Middlesex batter struck his second half-century of the match to close out victory against Northamptonshire and finish the season in style.
Geddes steadied the ship alongside Max Holden, with the pair putting on 104 after both openers had departed cheaply in pursuit of 134 and hit the winning runs to end the County Championship contest unbeaten on 59.
It was the 25-year-old’s sixth 50 of Middlesex’s red-ball campaign – the fifth of those coming on the first day against Northamptonshire to rescue the Seaxes from a perilous 32-4 before Ryan Higgins’ hundred ensured what was ultimately a decisive lead.
