Saskia Horley says Middlesex must be sharper in both powerplays if they are to end their season with a trophy in Sunday’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup Women’s Tier 2 Final against Glamorgan at Bristol.
The Seaxes had to produce several rabbits from hats in their semi-final win over Northamptonshire last Sunday, recovering from 51-5 when batting before taking the last eight Northants wickets for 36 when they were seemingly cruising at 99-2 chasing 165 for victory.
While Horley’s charges showed great character and no little skill to turn that game on its head, the skipper knows such performances need to be the exception rather than the rule.
