Skipper Ben Geddes hinted his batters could have been a little bolder after Middlesex lost their 100 percent record in this season’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup in a four-wicket defeat to Worcestershire at New Road.
Josh de Caires continued his excellent recent form with a maiden List-A hundred, but despite the opener’s 130 the visitors fell seven short of 300 after being asked to bat first.
Naavya Sharma was the pick of the bowlers with 2-37 while Noah Cornwell’s three scalps came at greater cost (3-68) in Worcestershire’s chase, but neither could remove Jake Libby, whose superb unbeaten century (109) ultimately proved decisive.
