Caleb Falconer believes runs from Middlesex’s wagging tail will prove crucial further down the road in this week’s penultimate County Championship game of the season against Gloucestershire at Bristol.
The visitors, sporting a side shorn of several familiar names in a nod to Sunday’s upcoming Metro Bank One-Day Cup Final, looked set for another below par batting showing when finding themselves 222-8 after choosing to bat first.
However, Toby Roland-Jones (44 not out) and Sebastian Morgan (38) shared a stand of 74 for the ninth wicket, before New Zealand debutant Danru Ferns helped the former Seaxes’ skipper add a further 28 to leave Middlesex 324-9 at stumps.
