Ryan Higgins feels Middlesex’s new-look seam attack – and its mix of experience and youth – can ensure ‘exciting times’ ahead for the team.

Higgins, at 31 one of the more seasoned bowlers in the side, starred with a burst of wickets on the second evening against Worcestershire at Lord’s as the Seaxes fought their way back into the contest.

But the wickets have so far been evenly shared around the four-pronged attack that also includes former England paceman Toby Roland-Jones and youth products Naavya Sharma and Sebastian Morgan.

“It’s definitely something different, with older guys and a couple of young lads – not just the guys playing at the moment but a lot of others in the ranks,” said Higgins.
