Geddes philosophical over Lions hopes this winter

Middlesex batter admits he's expecting a winter at home after not doing enough to catch the selectors' eyes for a second time in 2026.

A candid Ben Geddes admitted he’d be surprised if a second England Lions’ call-up came his way this winter as he hasn’t made the volume of runs to warrant it.

Middlesex’s successful Metro Bank One-Day cup skipper made his Lions debut against the touring South Africa A side back in May and June, so would be on the selectors’ radar for the return trip scheduled for December.

However Geddes believes he hasn’t really kicked on since that early summer high, only belatedly finding his form with four half-centuries in the twilight of the County Championship season.

Therefore, while he trusts his talent, he’s reconciled to the idea he may have to wait a little longer for further representative honours.
